Abstract
This study analyzes the effectiveness of technical–tactical combinations in fencing by comparing beginner and professional athletes. The research examines differences in technique selection, transitions between attack and defense, decision-making speed, and tactical adaptability during bouts. Observation, video analysis, and expert assessment methods were used to identify the efficiency of various combinations, their impact on bout outcomes, and their frequency of use depending on the athlete’s skill level. The findings indicate that beginners tend to rely on simple and repetitive movements, whereas professional fencers employ more complex, multi-stage combinations that adapt to an opponent’s reactions. This study provides practical and theoretical value for coaches and athletes in designing effective training programs.
