Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation of the effectiveness of the methodology of conscious selection of the type of sports activity by forming the process of self-awareness in students of sports schools. The study analyzes the psychological development of the individual, the motivational sphere, interests, and the role of individual abilities in choosing the type of sports activity. The components of the process of self-awareness and their significance in the orientation of athletes are revealed. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the necessity of integrating psychological and pedagogical approaches into the educational process in sports schools is substantiated. The research results will serve the development of methodological recommendations that contribute to the conscious selection of a sport corresponding to the individual capabilities and interests of those involved in sports schools.
