Abstract
This article analyzes the factors influencing the development of motivation and competitiveness among gymnast athletes. Motivation is considered the primary internal driving force that determines athletes’ attitudes toward training, persistence in competitions, and goal orientation. Competitiveness is closely related to psychological preparedness, volitional qualities, and the ability to achieve high performance in tournaments. Using a pedagogical and psychological approach, the study explores mechanisms to enhance motivation and strengthen competitiveness in gymnasts. The results reveal that personal motivational factors and social support significantly affect athletes’ effectiveness.
