Abstract
The article examines scientifically grounded approaches to preparing 13-15-year-old track and field athletes for competitive activity. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to rationally plan the training process, taking into account the age-related morphofunctional characteristics of adolescents and the requirements of modern sports. The purpose of the research is to substantiate an effective system for training young athletes at the initial specialization stage. The work used methods of analyzing scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, generalization of advanced coaching experience, and comparative analysis of training programs. The structure and periodization of the training process, the peculiarities of pre-competition training, and the dynamics of physical qualities development are considered. The presented results confirm the effectiveness of a comprehensive and phased approach to the training of 13-15-year-old track and field athletes and can be used in the practice of coaches and university teachers.
