Abstract
This article systematically examines the effect of strength training on vertical jump height in highly skilled volleyball players. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of a training program designed to develop lower limb strength, explosive power, and speed-strength. Vertical jump height is a critical indicator of the effectiveness of offensive and blocking actions in volleyball. Therefore, strength training and explosive muscle power play a direct role in achieving maximal jump height. The study involved 20 highly skilled volleyball players. The experiment was conducted over 8 weeks, with training sessions 3–4 times per week. The training program included specialized exercises targeting lower limb strength and explosive power. Squat Jump (SQJ) and Countermovement Jump (CMJ) tests were used to assess the results. The study showed that strength training significantly increases vertical jump height (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the study confirmed the positive impact of strength, speed, and coordination on jump performance. The findings provide practical guidance for optimizing training programs, applying individualized approaches, and enhancing the effectiveness of offensive and blocking actions. This research contributes to improving the physical preparation of volleyball players and increasing their competitive performance.
